The Magic and Beauty of Diamonds and other Precious Stones
A talk by David Vroobel

Meeting will take place in Danbury Village Hall.

  
     
  We meet on the first Thursday of every month throughout the year, usually in the Church Meeting Room of St. John's Church at 8pm.
Our meetings are open to all, we charge £1 for members, £2 for visitors.

PROGRAMME FOR 2012

 Thursday 5 January.
          “France in Pictures” – by David & Brigitte Whiteing.
            A French Evening – French bread & cheese supplied,
            Please bring French wine to drink, plus glasses.

Thursday 2 February   
          Winter Warmer.  Cost £5.50 (you must book and pay in advance).
            Please bring drinks, glasses, soup & sweet dishes & cutlery.
Thursday 1 March
          “Cuba – A Tale of Colonisation & Survival” by David Clarke. 

 Thursday 5 April
          “Life in Uniform” A talk by Ian Austin.

 Thursday 3 May
          Annual Quiz Evening with Fish & Chip Supper.  Cost £6.
            Bring drinks, glasses, plates & cutlery.

 Friday 25 to Monday 28 May  (precise dates to be confirmed).
          Visit from Altenglan (30th Anniversary of signing ceremonies).

 Thursday 7 June
          “The Magic & Beauty of Diamonds & other Precious Stones.
            A talk by David Vroobel (who will also do valuations).

 Thursday 5 July
 No Meeting.

 Thursday 2 August
          Summer Barbecue.  Meats & French bread provided.  Cost £5.
            Please bring a salad or sweet, drinks, glasses, plates & cutlery.

 Thursday 6 September
          “Germany Today”.  A talk sponsored by the German Embassy.

 Thursday 4 October
          Bottle & Dish Social Evening –
            Please bring food to share, plates, drinks, glasses & cutlery.

 Thursday 1 November
          “The Hill Tribes of Vietnam and China”.
            The annual slide show from David & Brigitte Whiteing.

 Thursday 6 December
          AGM, followed by wine and cheese.

 Most events commence at 8pm in St. John’s Church Meeting Room.
